HOLLYWOOD — Dec. 27, 2012 — Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2013, the Academy of Magical Arts (AMA) will launch a year-long celebration with festivities beginning Jan. 2.

The AMA, an extraordinary, non-profit social order located in the heart of historic Hollywood, is the premier organization dedicated to the art of magic. Its clubhouse, the Magic Castle, is one of the most unique private clubs in the world. The AMA’s membership includes performing magicians and illusionist of all levels – including entertainment’s most pre-eminent, world-renowned artists – as well as associate members who simply love the art and the establishment.

AMA president, Emmy Award-winning actor and performing magician Neil Patrick Harris commented, “Hollywood is a magical place and nowhere is that more true than at the Academy of Magical Arts and the Magic Castle. The AMA is devoted to advancing the art of magic, preserving its history – which dates back to ancient civilization – and promoting public interest in magic as an entertainment medium and hobby. Our 50th anniversary is a wonderful milestone and a unique opportunity to celebrate and share our love of this secretive and mystical art form.”
